Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-22
This policy explains what data ZapKite handles when you visit zapkite.com and play our games here. It covers this website only: our games on other websites (game portals) and app stores follow those platforms’ own privacy policies.
The short version
- No accounts, no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email or age to play.
- Your game progress stays in your own browser.
- Only during playtests (test links), our games send anonymous gameplay statistics (no player ID) so we can fix bugs and balance them. Normal play sends none.
- If you send a bug report, we receive what you write plus technical details, so we can fix the problem.
- There are no ads on this site right now, and we set no advertising or tracking cookies.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-site advertising.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Nguyễn Trung Kiên, an individual developer trading as ZapKite Studio, based in Vietnam. Contact for anything about privacy: hello@zapkite.com. We answer within 30 days.
What we collect and why
| Data | What exactly | Why, and legal basis | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Game saves (coins, upgrades, settings, best scores) | Stored only in your browser (IndexedDB / local storage). Never sent to us. | Needed to provide the game you asked for (strictly necessary storage; GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)). | Until you clear this site’s data in your browser. |
| Anonymous gameplay statistics (playtests only, for now) | Only when you open a test link (for example with ?playtest=1): events such as "level started", "level ended", how far you got, attempts, load time, frame rate, errors and crashes, together with the game and version, device type (desktop or mobile), browser family, language and approximate country (from Cloudflare). No name, no account, no advertising ID, no persistent player ID: a random session number is created in memory each time you open a game and is never stored on your device. Your IP address is not stored with the events. | To find bugs, fix crashes and slow loading, and balance the games, with your agreement to take part in the playtest. We will not collect gameplay statistics from everyone without first offering a way to opt out, and asking for consent where the law requires it. | Up to 3 months in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine, then deleted automatically. |
| Bug reports you choose to send | What you type in the "Report a bug" form and, if you leave the box ticked, technical details: game version and build, browser and device type, screen size, language, the page and the recent game log. Your IP address is used, in hashed form and for about a minute, only to stop spam; it is not stored with the report. | To fix the problem you reported (your request, and our legitimate interest in fixing bugs). | In our private bug tracker until the bug is fixed, then for up to 24 months as project history. Ask us and we delete it sooner. |
| Hosting and security data | Your IP address, browser type and the pages and files requested, processed by Cloudflare to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. | To run and secure the site (legitimate interest). | Short-lived logs kept by Cloudflare under its own policy; we do not store them. |
| Website statistics | Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views, referrers, country and page speed. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage and does not fingerprint you. | To see which pages people use and whether they load quickly (legitimate interest). | Totals only, kept by Cloudflare. |
| Emails you send us | Your email address and message, if you write to hello@zapkite.com. | To answer you. | Up to 24 months after the conversation ends. |
We do not collect sensitive data, we do not build profiles of players, we make no automated decisions about you, and we never combine game data with data from other sources.
Cookies and storage on your device
| Name | Type | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
Game save (for example /userfs) | IndexedDB / local storage | Your progress and settings. Strictly necessary. |
That is all: we use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, so there is no cookie banner.
Bug reports
When you send a bug report, it becomes an entry in our private bug tracker, hosted by GitHub, which only the ZapKite team can see. Please describe the problem without personal information. If you include some by mistake, email us (with the report number shown after sending, if you have it) and we will remove it.
Advertising
This site shows no ads at the moment. We may add ads later to keep the games free. Before that happens we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. Our games never show our own ads on other websites.
Your privacy choices
With no ads, no tracking cookies and no accounts there is nothing to switch on or off right now; "Privacy choices" in the footer brings you here and will open the ad settings if we ever add ads. To delete your game progress, clear this site’s data in your browser settings.
Children
Our games are made for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: the games need no account, no name and no email, and gameplay statistics carry no identifier. If you are under the age of digital consent where you live (13 to 16 depending on the country), please ask a parent or guardian before sending us a bug report or an email. Parents can contact us at hello@zapkite.com and we will delete anything a child sent us.
Who we share data with
Only with the service providers that run the site for us, under contracts that oblige them to protect it:
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, content delivery, security, website statistics, gameplay statistics and email forwarding. Privacy policy.
- GitHub, Inc.: our private bug tracker. Privacy statement.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it. We never sell personal information.
International transfers
These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where data leaves the EU, the UK or Switzerland, the transfer is protected by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions) or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU, the UK GDPR, or US state laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data about you, receive a copy, restrict or object to its use, withdraw consent at any time, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither). We will not treat you differently for using these rights. Email hello@zapkite.com; because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, it helps to tell us roughly when you played or the bug report number. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Bug reports are kept in a private tracker that only the team can access, and gameplay statistics are stored without identifiers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we keep the data we hold to a minimum so there is little to lose.
Changes
We update the date at the top whenever this policy changes. Important changes, such as turning on ads, are announced on this page before they take effect.
